This policy explains what information the Nomads Nation AI Bag Finder collects when you use our chat and recommendation tools on this site, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you use the AI Finder, we collect:

• Anonymous visitor and session identifiers. Random IDs stored in cookies that let us measure usage across a visit and over time. They are not linked to your name, email, or account.
• A salted, one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store your IP address itself. We store an irreversible hash of it, used only to detect and prevent abuse of the service.
• Chat usage data. The number of tokens each chat turn uses and the resulting computed cost, so we can understand and manage how the service is used.
• The text of your chat inquiries. The questions and messages you send to the AI Finder, used to improve the tool and understand what people are looking for.

How we use this information

• To provide and operate the AI Finder and its recommendations.
• To improve our tools and understand which products and questions matter most to visitors.
• To monitor service costs and overall usage.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse or misuse.

Cookies

We use two first-party cookies for the AI Finder:

• nn_anon — an anonymous visitor identifier, kept for up to one year.
• nn_session — an anonymous session identifier, kept for about 30 minutes of inactivity.

Both cookies are set as httpOnly, meaning they cannot be read by client-side scripts. They contain random identifiers only — no personal information.

How long we keep it

Usage and inquiry data is retained for a limited period (currently about 30 days) in our analytics system, after which it is automatically deleted. Anonymous cookie identifiers expire as described above.

Sharing

We do not sell your information. We share data only with the third-party AI and infrastructure providers that help us operate the AI Finder (for example, the AI model provider that generates recommendations and the analytics service that stores usage data), and only as needed to run the service.

Affiliate links

Some product links on this site are affiliate links. If you use them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and the retailer may set its own cookies once you leave our site. Those cookies are governed by the retailer's privacy policy, not ours.

Your choices and data requests

Because the data we collect is tied to anonymous identifiers rather than your name or account, we may need the relevant identifier to locate your data. You can clear the AI Finder cookies in your browser at any time. To request deletion of data associated with your visit, contact us at privacy@nomadsnation.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
